Welcome to the web site of the Virginia State University Foundation. The Virginia State College Foundation was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on March 4, 1968, and granted tax exemption under Section 501(c) 3 status of the Internal Revenue code on June 1, 1968. On Sept. 2, 1980, its name was officially changed to Virginia State University Foundation.
The purpose of the Foundation is to support the mission of Virginia State University by receiving, managing and distributing donations and contributions that aid in the enhancement and growth of the University. The Foundation may also acquire property on behalf of the University to assist in its capital expansion plans. Presently, the Foundation holds assets in excess of $6 million.
The Foundation is governed by an 11-member Board of Trustees (non-compensated) with a diverse background of experience and expertise.
The Foundation’s Board is thankful and grateful for the contributions from its donors and looks forward to their continued support as well as the support from new donors.
